Kynnedi Henderson is a driven and dedicated young woman whose commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and community service makes her an ideal candidate for the 2024-2025 Debutante Program of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Charlotte Alumnae Chapter. As the proud daughter of John Henderson Jr. and Kristin Cosby, Kynnedi exemplifies the qualities of excellence and character. An honors student with a 3.6 GPA, Kynnedi is recognized for her academic excellence and active participation in class. As a natural leader, she inspires her peers through thoughtful contributions and impactful expression. Kynnedi’s achievements have earned her induction into the National Honor Society for the 2024–2025 academic year at Merancas Middle College High School. This honor highlights her dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic—qualities that align with the high standards of the society.

Kynnedi’s commitment to excellence extends beyond academics. She recently completed a Natural Hair Care Specialist course at Central Piedmont Community College, preparing for the NC State Board of Cosmetic Arts Examiners License Exam. This accomplishment showcases her work ethic, passion for cosmetology and commitment to both personal and professional growth.

Beyond academics, Kynnedi has demonstrated leadership in various capacities. As a former co-captain of the Varsity Cheerleading team at Jackson Day School, she showcased teamwork, resilience, and the drive for excellence. Her current role as Event Coordinator for the Student Council at Merancas Middle College High School further highlights her organizational skills, as she successfully plans impactful events to bring her school community together. Kynnedi’s leadership extends to her involvement in the National Student Council, Black Student Union, and Women’s Empowerment group, where she fosters inclusivity and positive change.
Kynnedi’s commitment to service is also evident in her volunteer work with Legacy Martial Arts, where she mentored youth in their summer emerging program. She is an active member of The Park Church, where she serves in the Highschoolers for Christ ministry, further demonstrating her dedication to community service. Kynnedi enjoys dancing, spending time with her family, and traveling in her free time.
Kynnedi plans to pursue a nursing degree at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU), driven by a passion for caring for others and making a meaningful impact in the medical field.
